Aveira's Secret

Aveira walked deep into the forest. She made it past seven different layers of spells and barriers and through a maze. In the center was a small silver box. She picked it up and looked inside, tears leaking out of her eyes.

((I feel obligated. My girl can't cry!!))

A fox pawed the barrier. He couldn't get through like this.

Aveira turned around and waved her wand. The fox teleported to where Aveira was. "What is it?" she asked quietly.

Toru sat on the ground. "I wanted to know why there was a wall in places I haven't been yet. And why are you crying?"

Aveira put the box down on the pedistal in the center of her maze. "Memories," she answered simply.

Toru stretched, pulling off his shirt to use as a pillow. He sat and watched her, not saying anything.

She was much to distracted to flirt. Or stare. Both of which she would otherwise have been doing. She smiled at the thing in the box, reaching in to pick it up gently. It was a tiny gothic doll, the size of one of her fingers. It had wings on the back and was made of china. It looked exactly like her.

Toru bit his lip, drawing blood. He wanted to ask, but he stopped himself. It was her time, and he was only here because Aveira wanted him to be.

In a moment of weakness Aveira dropped the doll back into the box and hugged Toru, burying her head in his shoulder. She was crying with loud shuddering sobs.

His arms wrapped around her back, but he didn't say a word. What was he supposed to say?

"W-why did I d-do it?" she gasped out. "H-how could I m-make one?"

Toru broke his silence. "Make what?"

She looked up at him, black makeup running down from each corner of her eyes. "Have you ever heard of a horcux?" she asked softly.

((Dun dun DUNNNNNN!!!))

Toru frowned. "No, I can't say I have."

"It's terrible...You have to commit the worst sin." she waved motioned toward the doll. Her sobs had stopped, but tears still flowed. "I can't even describe how terrible the spell is. But it...it..." She shook her head. "Do you remember when you said your soul was in pieces? Mine actually is."

((It's torture because I WANT to answer, but Toru couldn't know))

Toru's eyes widened.

((Ooooooh...He can always sneak into the restricted section of the library in a new thread if we end this one quickly))

Aveira looked away, eyes downcast. She grabbed the doll and put it gently back in the box.

((Mmm...yes mistress))

Toru gently pushed her away and stood up.

((*twitch*))

Aveira stood up and placed the box back where it was. I understand his hatred. Not even Di knows I've done this...

He grabbed her hand and gazed into her eyes. "It looks like we are taking a trip to the library."

She nodded and led him through the labrynth and the seven barriers, lost in thought.
