He swished it back and forth. "I like my tail too. It's one of my favorite things."

She saw her chance and jumped at it. "Mon cherie, you are one of my favorite things." She batted her eyes at him.

He decided to mess with her. He pulled his hand down his chin, batting his eyelids back. Putting on a higher pitched voice, he said, "Oh, I'm SO glad you agree with me, darling. Fashion these days are just OUTRAGEOUS. SOMEONE needs to break the norm, don't you agree?"

She widened her eyes. "Completely. Are you gay?" Oh shit. If he was gay then all her flirting was for nothing.

He put his hands back in his pockets, letting his hair black hair fall into his eyes. "Do I LOOK gay to you? It was a joke," he said with a straight face. He didn't usually joke.

"Oh thank God," she said. "Je mourrais si vous étiez gai. I really would."

"Can I aske why you would die if I was gay? Or do I not want to know?" he teased.

Her eyes twinkled and she smiled flirtatiously as she said, "You're much to sexy for your own good." She was speaking with a slight French accent again. "They pain of never having you would crush my very soul!" she said dramatically.

He smiled. She was out of control. "Well, at least you HAVE one."

"Ah, my love. It is only because of you that my shattered soul can stay in place." She ignored the slight jolt of fear through her heart at his words. She knew he was just kidding, but the thoughts that that brought to mind...

He sighed and leaned against a tree. "If you say so."

She grinned. "I do say so."

"Well, just as long as your soul stays put, no problems, hm?" He sighed. "I don't need to worry about that."

"What do you mean by that?" she asked. Her face had gone emtionless again.

"Oh, come off it. You really think I have a soul? Honestly?"

"Yes. Everyone has a soul. The question is, how many pieces is it in? Poetic nuances aside."

"Dust. And yours?"

"What do you mean by dust?" she asked curiously.

"As in too small and too many pieces to count accurately."

"Have you ever killed anyone?" she asked bluntly.

"Well, let's see...two people. My parents. Locked them in the woodshed at the beginning of the year, no food, no water."

Her breath caught for just a moment, though her face stayed nuetral. "I see. And then what?"

"Then what what? I didn't give it a second thought."

"Did you use their death for anything?" Then she shook her head. He was muggle born. Not even a lot of purebloods knew what a horcrux was. She was being paranoid. "Nevermind," she muttered.
