This made him giggle. "If I'm not a freak, then how could I have done it? How could I have killed them the way I did?"

"Am I freak?" she asked. "If you're a freak then I'm a freak. Actually..." she let the sentence hang. She was a freak.

He sang out in a sing song voice, "The sheets were so pretty, stained in red. The voices cried out, not in my head. They begged and they pleaded, but it was no use. I sliced them and diced them and bathed in their juice!" he was having an insane moment.

Aveira glared at everyone until they left. Then she retaliated.
"So give them blood, blood, gallons of the stuff!
Give them all that they can drink and it will never be enough.
So give them blood, blood, blood.
Grab a glass because there's going to be a flood!

He crumpled where he stood, sobbing uncontrolably. "Why...why...?"

She leaned down and hugged him again. "We all make mistakes," she whispered.

"Oh, no. This was no mistake. It HAD to be done, and I don't feel an ounce of regret. Why did they hate me so much?"

She shook her head. "I don't know. I don't hate you," she said.

Toru regained his composure, sitting back in his chair. "I still don't like the potion method."

She shrugged. "Better than drugs. It works wonders."

He bowed his head. "I'm sorry you had to see that. An insane mudblood like me..."

She lifted his chin up. "You aren't insane. And your bloodline doesn't define you."

"If you say so..." Toru was ashamed of himself.

"My father caused the death of so many that people still fear to speak his name. My mother tortured and killed for the fun of it. Are you telling me I have to end up like that because of them?" She raised her eyebrows.

"I have already stated that it is the decisions that make the person, not the past," Toru muttered. "You would have killed me already anyway."

She nodded. "Exactly. So the comment about you being a mudblood was pointless."

"You are determined to justify me."

"Yes I am," she agreed.

"Why do you care so much about me?"

Aveira shrugged. "Maybe because you're like me."

Toru crossed his arms and flicked his fox ears. "Explain."

"Terrible memories. Hate of bloodline. Animagus. Dark. Likes blood. Need I go on?"

"Well, I'm not bisexual, so you can cross that off of your list. Point taken."
